Hello, I am Katherine. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply need a safe space to offload? I offer calm, non-judgmental counselling where you can gently untangle your thoughts, at your own pace. I believe that, with the right support, we all have the potential to grow and feel better in ourselves.
I work with people facing anxiety, stress, work pressures, chronic stress, disability or illness, bereavement and loss, trauma or PTSD. You might also be facing self-esteem challenges, imposter syndrome, worries about the world around us, or simply need a little support to reach your potential. I offer a gentle, person-centred space, shaped by experience, insight, and an intelligent, thoughtful approach, where you can feel heard, supported and valued. Counselling can take place in my peaceful garden room in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury, or remotely by phone or online — wherever you feel most at ease. |
I won't diagnose, advise, or judge you, I will always listen, be honest, believe in you, help you to untangle your issues.
You’ll set the pace and the focus; my only aim is to help you to accept & believe in yourself.
As well as traditional talking therapy, I can offer creative counselling and mindfulness techniques in our sessions. Mindfulness can help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and notice the beauty in the world around you. Relaxation techniques can ease both mind and body. If you’re curious about creative approaches, we might use clay, colour, drawing, photography, poetry, visualisation, sand tray work, or even your own ideas — not for the sake of the finished piece, but for the freedom of the process itself. You don’t need to feel ‘arty’ — it’s all about expression, not perfection.
I am trained in bereavement counselling and trauma-informed; my experience includes volunteering for three years with male survivors of sexual abuse, and counselling NHS staff through the pandemic. I’ve worked with Mind, and still work for Wellbeing in the Arts, and with those bereaved by suicide at Suicide&Co. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent 20 years leading staff and projects in charities supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, homelessness, disability, and older age. Supporting people towards their goals has always been my passion, and it’s a privilege to continue this work in private practice today. I am currently training to become a clinical supervisor.

Canterbury counsellor: I have a peaceful counselling room in Bekesbourne, where there is free parking, and a WC. It is just 10 minutes’ drive from Canterbury.
I’m a strong believer in the benefits of online counselling and phone counselling. Sometimes, being in your own familiar space can make it easier to open up, and it’s a more accessible option that saves on travel time and cost.
Life has been challenging for many, and we all need a safe, empathic space to offload. Just as trees need light, water and space to grow, people thrive when met with empathy, honesty and acceptance — something I aim to offer in every session.
I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgemental, and inclusive space where people from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences are valued and supported.
I offer a free, 30-minute no-obligation introductory consultation. This is a great way to see if we click and I am someone you think you would be able to trust. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
